Are you spending the holidays in Leicester? Make sure you check out some of the festive attractions going on across the city to get in the Christmas spirit

Wheel of Light

If you’ve been into town in the last few weeks you’ve probably already seen the Wheel of light, illuminating Jubilee Square (maybe better known as the area outside mosh). The 10 minute ride gives you a unique view of Leicester. With each gondola containing space for up to six people, it’s well worth heading down in the evening.

Jubilee Square Ice Rink

Overlooked by the Wheel of Light is the real ice rink. 50% bigger than last year, the ice rink provides plenty of space for pro skaters and those a little shakier on their feet to glide around the ice. Tickets cost £9 between 11am-4pm Monday to Friday, and £10 for all other times.

Christmas in the Gardens

Cathedral gardens is displaying an enchanting interactive installation this Christmas. At the centre, a giant glowing orb. The animated orb will display a beautiful rotating globe, which will morph into animated characters and you may even see yourself dancing across the orb.

Open 5pm – 10pm

Set up in the bustling St Peters Square for the first time ever, Jagerhaus is a German themed bar. Serving a variety of Christmas food, including classic German dishes like Bratwurst, as well as mulled wine and Belgian beer, the Jagerhaus is the ideal evening hang out after a long day of Christmas shopping.

Whether you’re staying in Leicester or heading home for the holidays, we hope everyone has a great Christmas and a fantastic new year.
