“I knew I wanted a short walk to lectures because my timetable this year is going to be packed. I chose to live in the Golden Triangle, the cluster of student streets between campus and the town centre. It suits me so well and life feels loads easier; I can get to uni or into town in a matter of minutes, and there’s enough of a buzz around the place without it feeling hectic.”

Dan — a business student with a part‑time job in town
“I spend a lot of time in the town centre because I work shifts behind a bar and I like being near the local nightlife. Living in Loughborough town centre means everything I need is on my doorstep, however, there are good transport links to lectures, or I can walk if I need to.”
It takes Dan a little longer to walk to campus, but the flexibility of being close to work and having plenty going on nearby suits his lifestyle perfectly.
Priya — a psychology student who needs peace to study
“I really wanted somewhere calm and relaxing, so I looked at the Forest Road and Epinal Way area because it feels more residential and gives me a bit more ability to focus on my work. The streets are quieter and the houses feels much bigger than the others I looked at.”
When she needs a break from studying, Queen’s Park and other green outdoor spaces are nearby for a walk for a breath of fresh air.
Josh — a postgraduate who lives for the outdoors
“I spend most of my downtime outside as much as I can, so I chose Nanpantan on the edge of Loughborough because it is quiet, leafy and great for cycling. It is further from campus, but I prefer the slower pace of life and the extra space I get.”
Nanpantan suits students who love the outdoors or want a calmer place to come home to after lectures.
Lucy and Sam — housemates on a budget who still want convenience
“We were looking for affordability without giving up a good location, and we found a place off Ashby Road, one of the town’s main routes. We’ve got plenty of takeaway options, local cafés and pubs and bus links to everywhere else, all while staying close enough to campus to walk in.”
