Love is in the air this month as Valentine’s Day is just around the corner on Sat 14th Feb.❤️
As much as this is a time for couples to embrace their love for one another, it should also be a time to show appreciation for the people who have helped you get through your tough moments.
So this Palentines Day, get out of your comfort zone and show your appreciation for the friends who keep you smiling day to day.
These don’t have to be grand gestures which would make Romeo and Juliet swoon. It can be as simple as leaving a note or card for your friends at their doorstep to show your appreciation, or finally stopping whatever pet peeve your flat mates has about your living habits.
For those who love their arts and crafts, decorating your flat is always a great way to have fun together or if you have a competitive edge a competition between who knows who better is always a good way to go.
I recommend you proceed with caution if that is your decision, the last thing you need when showing your love for one another is to fall out because one of your friends (we all have one) takes the game a little too seriously.
Of course, there is room for more extravagant acts of appreciation. Finding a nice place to go and have a meal and a drink to celebrate your friendship is always a great go-to. There are many places situated in Leicester city centre which would be perfect for you to enjoy yourself. Or alternatively, you could cook them a meal yourself if that’s one of your specialties.
I’m sure if nothing else, a chat between you all where you tell them how grateful you are for their support over the academic year would be more than enough.
