Clarendon Park is a charming part of Leicester near the University (UoL).
Victoria Park sits on the edge of the Clarendon area. Until 1883 the park served as Leicester’s race course, once the racecourse moved to Oadby the space was used to create a green space for the city. Celebrations such as Pride and Eid are hosted here as well as Cancer Research’s ‘Race for Life’.
Leicester’s cultural scene is set in Clarendon Park’s De Montfort Hall which houses shows and performances from acts all over the world. From Russia’s ballet companies to The Glam Skanks from LA, there are hundreds of performances and something for everyone. If visual art is more your thing then a visit to the Attenborough Arts Centre could be perfect.
How much do you really know about your local area? From the corner of Orlando Road to the middle of Cecelia Road is a secret passage, between numbers 10 and 12. This little jitty is so narrow and hidden that many locals don’t know that it exists.

In terms of practical services there are plenty of important things to note. Just a short distance away is the Victoria Park Health Centre which primarily serves the students at the University of Leicester with health services.
On St. Leonards Road is Clarendon Laundry which hosts a premium cleaning, ironing, and folding service as well as a traditional laundrette, this is ideal if your accommodation does not have laundry services.
