Easter activities for university students

The Easter holidays are quickly approaching and there are plenty of fun activities that students can do during their time off! DMU term ends on Fri 22nd March & Uni of Leics on Weds 27th March.

Easter egg hunt

Easter egg hunts aren’t just for kids – it is another great activity that you can do with your housemates. There are several ways to do this activity. You can buy multipacks of Easter chocolates and sweets that you can buy from supermarkets to hide around your student accommodation. Or you can buy plastic eggs that you can fill with anything you’d like – cash, food or joke gifts.

Exchange Easter Eggs

I’m one of those who likes to buy Easter Eggs to gift to people when there is a good deal on. Unfortunately, due to the cost-of-living crisis, the offers aren’t as good as I remember them. Until the 5th of March, Tesco are selling their large Easter Eggs for £2 with Clubcard. Asda has several multi-buy offers on their Easter Egg range. If you are one of those who leaves it to the last minute, some supermarkets do reduce their prices a few days before Easter Sunday. If you can afford to, you can exchange Easter Eggs with your friends or housemates – you could even do something like Secret Santa but with chocolate eggs.

Decorate the house

To get in the Easter spirit, you can decorate your student house with cheap and affordable decorations. Places like Poundland and B&M have a big range of decorations ranging from ornaments, garlands, wreaths and more. Just make sure that anything you use to decorate does not cause damage to the property as you may risk losing some of your damage deposit. If you would like to get in touch about how to enjoy holidays like Easter, without causing damage, you can call Sulets on 0116 467 0315 or send an email to enquiries@sulets.com.

Make cornflake nests

These are such an easy and fun Easter bake to make that everyone will love. You don’t have to use cornflakes, other cereals such as Shredded Wheat and Rice Krispies also work. There are plenty of recipes online and, even, TikTok! You can even use leftover Easter Egg chocolate to avoid waste.

Although you are at university to study for a degree, it is important to take time to relax. Holidays like Easter are a perfect way to do so – even if you just want to stuff your mouth with chocolate and stay in bed all day.

It’s also worth checking out your Student Union to see if there are any events they are hosting over the Easter break 👇
