Free security improvements in 210 student homes

DSU are aiming to make significant improvements to the security of 210 privately rented student houses. The Safe assessment and any subsequent improvements (including all materials) are provided completely free of charge to the occupier and house owner, through funds granted to the Students’ Union by the Home Office, Safer Homes Fund. All equipment will be fitted by qualified members of Leicester City Council’s Burglary Reduction team who are working in partnership with DSU to support the scheme.

The SAFE project is currently appealing for landlords of student properties to get in contact with DSU to register their houses for a free SAFE assessment and free security fittings. Contact can be made through DSU Lettings office on 0116 2576303.
